Richard Barth Obituary
TIFFIN: Richard (Dick) D. Barth, 88, of Tiffin, passed away at 6:15 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the St. Francis Nursing Home in Tiffin.
He was born May 30, 1926, in Tiffin, to the late Ezra T. and Mary L.(Swinehart) Barth. He married Elaine M. Tewart on August 26, 1950 in Hamilton, OH and she survives.
Survivors include two sons, David R. (Stephanie) Barth of Port Clinton and Timothy A. (Cynthia) Barth of Tiffin, and daughter Rebecca E. (David) Barbee of Asheville, NC; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Richard is also survived by a sister, Barbara (Darl) Weber of Kettering, OH.
He graduated from Columbian High School and attended Heidelberg College. Dick was a WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Corps. He worked in bank management and later retired from insurance management.
Dick was very active in professional, community and church organizations throughout his life serving including Kiwanis, Boy Scouts and Faith (formerly Ebenezer) United Methodist Church, Tiffin.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald E. Barth.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Faith United Methodist Church. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, from 4-8 p.m., at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Intermit will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith United Methodist Church, the Alzheimer's Association, St. Francis Nursing Home or a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.engleshookfuneralhome.com
