Mary Spencer Obituary
Mary L. Spencer, 96, passed away January 1, 2015. Mary was born in Akron where she was a life resident and retired from the Akron Post Office after 37 years of service.
Mary was a much loved lady who made slippers and sweaters for a lot of people. There are many people who have cozy warm feet and hearts because of her. She made a big difference in so many people's lives. She always thought and cared for others before herself and will always be remembered for her generous heart. Mary loved and looked forward to playing cards every Saturday with her family.
Preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; survivors include her beloved nephews, Brad (Virginia) Iler and Pat (Lou) Iler; great-nephews, Mike (Amanda) Iler, John Iler, Bryan (Katie) Iler; great-nieces, Rebekka (Jason) Carpetta, Meghan Iler (John Lovejoy) and Emily Iler; and great-great-nieces and nephews, Andrew, Bailey, Spencer, Blaise, Elliot, Connor, Robyn and Marcus.
She had many special friends and neighbors who helped make her life easier; Dixie and Carol Ward, Noreen and Mac McDonald and Susan Lewis. Mary's family thanks you very much.
The family will receive friends at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 12 to 1 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Rev. Fleary Spurlock officiating. Private Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. www.silva-hostetler.com
