Mr. Richard J Belmonte

You were the love of my life (then and even now). I wish we could have spent our lifetimes together.

I knew RJ for the last several years. He always had a helping hand and a smiling face. He was a good friend and great dinner partner

mr belmonte spent several visits to san diego california to visit the montegna's also from the racine ave group . each time he would leave us wishing and waiting for his next trip to fill our hearts with excitment and fun . wishing richie a wonderful trip in heaven as he always said the stay hear on vacation on planet earth would be short and he was right, again .

May Rich rest in the hands of the Lord and may He give Joelle comfort at her loss.

I met Richard shortly after his release from the Army. We have been close since then. We were fellow Ignatians. I will miss him deeply.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I always looked forward to seeing Richard and hearing what he had to say. My favorite thing was swapping stories about Italy and where our families were from. Peace to the family.

Dear Joelle, My sincerest sympathies. Your dad was a generous and unique person in this world and definitely held a special place in my heart. I often thought of him and I am very, very sad to hear he is no longer with us. My father knew him as a child and saw him grow into a man he esteemed very much. My sincerest condolences and I wish I could be at the mass to support you. Much love to you.

Richard was an unexpected friend and one that will never be forgotten. I will look back on our times together with fondness and always remember to pass on his words of wisdom.

Richard was my close neighbor for 31 years on Lexington Street; we spent many hours exchanging ideas,opinions, and problems.
He could not be boring because Richie viewed the world through an unusual lens, one that always made me reexamine my own views and ask different questions.

My deepest sympathies. Richard was a wonderful friend to many of us here at the radio station and he will be missed.

Every time I encountered Richard, in Millennium Park, at WFMT, or elsewhere in Chicago, he always had some new piece of music that he was excited to talk about, a plan to make Chicago a better place with more arts and culture, or just some reason to be delighted with life in general. It was always a joy to see him.

Rest in peace, Richard! I have fond memories of you pulling up in your HOT sports car on Taylor Street back in the 60's. Your funny disposition and opinions were always enjoyable. You will truly be missed!

Mr. Belmonte was a great friend to WFMT who will be missed by both staff members and his fellow volunteers. His passing is a loss not just to his family, but to the greater Chicago cultural community.

Richard was a character and always a pleasure to be around. He was kind and generous and one of the smartest men I have ever known. I am so grateful I knew him. My deepest sympathies to Joelle and the Belmonte family.
