I worked with Dick for many years at CSM. He was a great blade man, and took a lot of pride in what he did. I remember his love for tomatoes and many times I would tell him that I was going to go into his yard and steal them in the middle of the night. He did not think it was a funny as I did. Sometimes after a comment like that he would make me run a little bit faster while I was jumping blue-tops. He was a lot of fun to work with. I will miss him and his stories dearly. He always called me Kimmy Bear. I never knew why, but I will always remember that.

Lynn,I miss you at work. Seeing you sitting next to me brushing back your hair with your fingers. Or thinking real hard with the communicator against your forehead. Does that help ? I'll try it. Anyway, I am here for you and just wanted you to know. I am saving a little sacred spot for you and dick in my silence. No words are neccessary. I love you Jade

Lynn, Florence, Marilyn, Joni and families,
I am so very sorry for the loss of Dick. My heart aches for you at this time.
Over the years we shared so many warm, fun and memorable times…….from annual special fishing weekends filled with laughter and no fish; (in cabins with “natural air conditioning”)…..to gathering for burgers….to holidays shared. Dick made things brighter, lighter and joy-filled, no matter what the occasion, even when watching the Vikings! Well, o.k., at least his commentary was entertaining. He had many unique expressions!
Dick had one big caring heart. His friendship was with us in good times and tough times. His humor, kindness and integrity touched us deeply. I will be forever grateful to his friendship and love. Lynn, the years we all shared together will be cherished forever.
Dick leaves a legacy of love; simple and clear as husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. May the warm gentleness of his love and a life well lived, be a comfort to you. I send to you my love and prayers, only wishing to be with you at this time.
Much love,
Susan Birsky (Johnson)

Dear Lynn,
I really did not know Dick all that long, but you know what they say about first impressions meaning a lot when you meet someone, well I can say that is very true, because I liked Dick from the first time that I met him. I am glad that I got to know him, and I will miss him!

To Glenn, Marilyn and the Bergstrom family. Please accept our condolences. I was just up there last week because my one and only brother passed away and then I see this. Dick was always fun to be around and I can remember all the great times we had at the Chalet and when I needed an extra ball player, he'd always be there to play. I will say a special prayer for you all.

Dear Bergstrom Family,
The earth will not be the same without Dick's presence and true smile. He always brightened up our day when he came into Cub Foods in Maple Grove! Dick will be missed by many who were blessed to have known him. To us Dick will always be "Gardy". We are deeply saddened to hear of his passing. God Bless your family in this difficult time. We pray in time you will find inner peace with your warm, loving memories of a truly great, loving, caring man in your hearts forever. No one can take that away.
