Richard E Bruner

Richard E. Bruner, 57, of Mackinaw, IL, passed away on August 10, 2025. Born on February 14, 1968, Richard, affectionately known as Rick, was a man profoundly connected to the natural beauty of his surroundings, especially the woods and lake near his home. He cherished the wildlife and the serene environment which he shared with his loving family and friends.

Rick was a devout believer in God and found great joy in the simplicity of outdoor life. His life was a testament to his faith and the deep love he held for his family and friends.

He leaves behind his sister, Heidi Hasty and her husband Greg of Daytona Beach, FL. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Sidney (Sinclair) Bruner, his brother Edward S. Bruner, and his grandparents. Special thanks to his best friend Roger Schlappi, Wendy Havens, Brandon and Erik & Kellie Roecker during his final days.

In honoring Rick's wishes, there will be no services. His ashes will be lovingly spread at the ocean, returning him to nature in a place he felt peace. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the OSF Richard L Owens Hospice Home, 8630 IL-91, Peoria, IL 61615.
