I worked with Richard Carpenter in three Honor Camps in San Diego County. He was a fine man of intellect and character. I was saddened to hear of his passing. He is on my short list of great men I have known. Michael Schaad

Dick Carpetner interviewed and hired me to work at the Probation Department in 1977 and threby gave me a career for the next 30 years. I loved and admired Dick and thought of him often over the years. He was a man of character and honor and lived his life by those rules. Gods Speed Richard
