Richard Walter Cooper Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Walter Cooper, Sr. (aka Dick), of Seal Beach, California. Beloved husband of Elva Maria Cooper, devoted father to Marie Celeste Campbell, Richard Walter Cooper, Jr, Katherine Elaine Erickson, cherished grandfather to Sarah Marie Campbell, Katherine Campbell Guidry, Joshua Erickson, Isabella Erickson, and great grandfather to Kenneth (Turtle) Grant, and Campbell Claire and Mary Grace Guidry. Dick passed surrounded by his loving family at Orange County Medical Center in Irvine.

Dick was an accomplished aerospace engineer and was known for his commitment to developing colleagues and exemplary service to clients. He was passionate about golf, bowling, travel, reading, and sports. He loved his Giants and the 49ers! He took great pride in his military exploits in Taiwan (formerly Formosa), having worked on safely landing the Surveyor, the first unmanned mission to the moon, and serving as the Senior Docent at the Ronald Reagan Library. He will be remembered for his hospitable demeanor and his unwavering love for his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Leisure World Seal Beach on February 23, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. The Memorial Service will be held at Gates of Heaven Los Altos cemetery on March 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
