Richard Creal Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 23 to Jan. 24, 2024.
Richard Thomas Creal, born on the 9th of May, 1947 CE, to Floyd Creal and Ethel (Demboowski) Creal, bid farewell to this world in Joliet, Illinois, USA on the 2nd of January, 2024 at the age of 76, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication. Richard, a lifelong resident of Chicago, Illinois, USA and its suburbs, answered the call to serve his country upon graduating high school, enlisting in the United States Army and proudly serving in Korea from 1966 to 1968.

Professionally, Richard dedicated just over thirty years of his life to service as a Diesel Bus Mechanic. His skilled hands and tireless work ethic left an indelible mark on the transportation industry. Colleagues and friends remember him as a reliable and dedicated individual, committed to ensuring the smooth operation of the vehicles that connected communities.

Richard was surrounded by the love of his three sisters, Carol, Sandy, and Darlene, who shared in both his triumphs and trials throughout the years. In 1972, Richard embarked on the next chapter of his life, exchanging vows with Jayne A. (Socha) Creal. Despite their eventual separation in 2003, the shared experiences and memories endured, including two children. Richard leaves behind a son, Christopher John Creal, a daughter, Catherine Jayne Daury©, and three grandchildren, Ariella Elizabeth Daury©, Gabriel Michael Daury© and Arkyn Castiel Daury©.

An interment and memorial service, including Military Honors, will be held at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois, USA at 12:30 PM (arrive at least 15 minutes before) on the 2nd of February, 2024. The Creal family requests memorial gifts in Richard's honor be sent to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society ( https://www.nationalmssociety.org/ ).
