Resident of San Jose, Ca
Survived by daughter, Kathleen Ransom; sons, Timothy, James, Daniel; 9 grand-children. 1953 Journalism graduate, San Jose State University, reporter, L.A. Times, Glendale News-Press, San Jose Merc-News. Dick Degnon Asso., 30 years, San Jose PR-ad agency. Ath. News Dir., 1962-81, Santa Clara University. Member, Santa Clara Rotary Club. Did Ad-PR for 50 new homes' builders, '62-85. Board member, Branham Hills Senior Baseball League. First president, 1969, Pioneer High School Sports Boosters Club. While in Air Force, he edited Ladd Field, Alaska, "farthest north newspaper in world". Degnon was last serviceman to transfer from the Army to Air Force, June 30, 1948, before both became separate U.S. branches.
Memorial Mass 10:00am on August 4, 2012 at Transfiguration Church, 4325 Jarvis Ave, San Jose.
