Wow what a great man and physician. I started at CMA 26 years ago and this man taught me so much. I'm actually leaving this practice on 08/02/2019. CMA is not the same after all great Docs that made this practice.

I was so shocked and very saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Deitrick--your loving husband and father. He was such a fabulous man. He was a true family man and wonderful dctor. He would talk to me about his loving wife, Linda, and family. I felt I knew everyone in the famiy personally. How proud he was to work side by side with his son, David. That was so special to him. He was my doctor for 40 plus years. He was such a kind doctor and would give you as much time as you neded-never having you feel rushed. Dr. Deitrick delivered my daughter,Angela (30 years old), and twin sons, Christopher Deitrick and Michael Angelo (now 27 years old). From Christopher's middle name, you can see how special he was to me-as he is named after Dr. Deitrick and I still remember how proud my doctor was when he learned that my son was named after him!! And I could go on and on about the special man that he was. I can only imagine the list of wonderful memories all of the famiy has to hold close to them about your loving husband and father. My thoughts and prayers will always be with you.

My last visit with Dr. Dietrick before his retirement was on a Good Friday and he told me of the Easter basket tradition being carried on with his grandchildren. It was obvious how much he loved you all. He never forgot to mention at my appointment that I was his newspaper girl years ago as I had grown up in your neighborhood. He was a wonderful man and doctor to my mother and I. We are so sorry for you loss.

Dear Dr. David & Karen,
My deepest sympathy to both of you. Your dad was my remarkable doctor whom I knew for over 30 yrs. I can still picture him sitting in the exam room wearing his beautiful dress slacks and shiny shoes as he asked how I was doing and what was new with me before he examined me. Somehow Hilton Head always came up in our conversation. He so looked forward to that wonderful vacation every year with ALL of his children and their families. I was always hoping that your father would some day return to practice.
He is at peace now and smiling down at you. May God give you strength during this difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

DR DEITRICK WAS A GIANT AMONG MEN. I FIRST MET HIM AS A VISITING PHYSICIAN IN THE EARLY 1970'S @ WOODVILLE STATE HOSPITAL. HE TREATED "THE LEAST OF MY BROTHERS" WITH SUCH KINDNESS,EXPERTISE & A GENTLE CALMING,PEACE...NEVER RUSHED THE PATIENT VISITS OR QUESTIONS. STAFF & PATIENTS LOOKED FORWARD TO HIS VISITS. I ALWAYS FELT REASSURED THAT MY PATIENT'S RECEIVED THE BEST CARE WHEN DR DEITRICK VISITED. WHEN I BECAME PREGNANT W/ MY FIRST CHILD IN 1977 THE CHOICE WAS SO EASY...BECAUSE IN MY EYES, HE WAS THE EPITOME OF A TRUE DOCTOR & HUMANITARIAN..AND I KNEW MY BABIES & I WERE IN THE BEST HANDS POSSIBLE.. IN MY 38 YRS AS AN RN, VERY FEW DOCTORS HAVE MEASURED UP TO THE HIGH STANDARD OF DR RICHARD DEITRIK. GOD BLESSED US WITH YOUR PRESENCE,DR DEITRICK...TIL WE MEET AGAIN. I was referred to Dr. Deitrick by Dr. Terence Philbin 15 years ago. What a truly compassionate doctor! He put me at ease immediately! He helped me through some very difficult times and I have never forgotten his kindness and how his eyes would light up when he spoke of his beloved wife and children! He always had "all the time in the world" for each of his patients and was quick to return a phone call to answer questions, listen to my concerns, and reassure me that all was fine. God Bless you, Dr. Deitrick!
To his family...over time, may your tears of sadness be replaced with smiles as you recall your many special memories of him!

To the entire Deitrick family: I am so very sorry to hear of Dr. Dietrick's passing. I knew him first as a father during our Canevin days and then when he became my doctor over 25 years ago. I always cherished hearing him talk about his children and grandchildren. He was such a wonderful, kind and gentle man. My heart breaks today, yet is joyful knowing Dr. Dietrick and his caring soul went straight to heaven. How blessed you all are to have such a wonderful husband, father and grandfather in your lives. He is a person to emulate. God bless all of you during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
