Dick Freeman, age 100, of Gainesville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. He was born in Jamestown, NY. He graduated from Jamestown High School and from the University of Michigan with undergraduate and graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering. While at Michigan, he lettered in wrestling. Dick loved to talk about his family and was a great father to his children. He took his family on dozens of camping trips throughout the US and Canada. In retirement, he and his wife loved to travel to Europe. Dick enjoyed golf, snow skiing, chess, cribbage, bridge and hiking with the BULLI Hiking Club. He served his Jamestown and Gainesville communities as a Past-President of the Rotary Club of Gainesville, member of the Jamestown Rotary Club, United Way campaign, the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce Board and the Chattahoochee Country Club Greens Committee. He was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his children Gary (Jackie) Freeman (of Raleigh, NC); Christopher (Melissa) Freeman (of Tybee Island, GA); Robert Freeman (of Seattle, WA); and Amy (Jervey) Inglesby (of Greenville, SC); grandchildren, Kristin, Chandler and Rollings Freeman, and Dani and Jervey Inglesby. He is also survived by his brother Edward (Sue) Freeman (of Jamestown, NY). He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Rosemary S. Freeman, and his parents Hjalmar and Edith Freeman.
