Judy and Donna, I just found out about Uncle Dick. I'm SO SORRY to hear this. My thoughts are with You Ladies and Your Families. I have some GREAT memories of Your Father. As a neighbor of my Family on Hillendale Rd. Your Pops would tease my Father all the time and I Loved it. Our Mothers were Dear Friends as well. I still live in the same house, (51 years) and boy has this neighborhood changed. May God Bless Uncle Dick and Aunt Carole.

Dick was a damn good street cop and was game for anything. Wayyy tooo many good stories to tell here , as Dick was more dependable than a Swiss Watch and was ALWAYS there when you needed him, and protected his men who worked with him and Ole Time Supervisors like him are unfortunately a thing of the past., RIP Dick, you earned it.

My Fathers Friend,

My father Bob Barton was a long time friend of Mr. DiFatta, they worked together at the Sherrifs Dept. in Florida. I know they corresponded regularly via email as I was always kept up to speed on things when I visited my dad, and I know my father respected him tremendously, he always spoke so highly of him. I am sad to hear that he has passed away, my condolences to the family, I completely understand. I can only hope that he has left a legacy of great memories and love to you all.

Rest in Peace Sir.

If you had the good fortune of knowing Father Difatta you already realize that this week we lost a truly great friend, mentor, leader of troops and all around tremendous person. Never callous or rude, he was a consummate gentleman and confidant, who like a momma bear fought for and protected “his people”. Hence the moniker “Father Difatta” was eternally forged. Astute and knowledgeable, I owe so much to him that words will never convey my everlasting gratitude.
My most sincere condolences to Dick’s family and his many friends.

We were both lucky enough to work with Father DiFatta. Always a fair supervisor & he had a great sense of humor. We shared emails about the Hummingbirds & he was pretty caring about their care & feedings. We enjoyed Father DiFatta & we know he was loved by many.

A dear friend and a great leader, teacher and confidant. He could give you advice and in a split second turn and cut a joke. Father D as we all called him was just that a support for all. Dick we will always love and respect you and you will be up there with the greats in our book.
