Richard “Ricky” Joseph Dobosenski, 39, Sturgeon Lake, died Tuesday, March 28, 2023.  He was born in Cloquet on December 21, 1983 to Darla Liimatinen and Jeffrey Dobosenski.  After high school, Ricky became a “jack of all trades” ranging from brick and stone, concrete work, construction, welding, unofficial mechanic, and bartender.  In 2008, Ricky met Sarah VanHeel while working at Doc’s Bar & Grill.  Ricky and Sarah have 3 children: Hunter, Bristol, and Boston.  Ricky whole heartedly loved his kids and spending time with his nieces and nephews.  He liked to fish and had a great love for basketball, from both playing and watching to collecting cards.  Ricky was a huge movie buff and could finish any line in a movie.  He also loved to dance, especially to the Cupid Shuffle, and had the ability to remember hundreds of good jokes!  Ricky will be remembered for having a huge heart and always willing to do whatever he could to help someone else.  His heart of gold and kindness will be truly missed. 

Ricky was preceded in death by his grandpa: Donald Dobosenski and nephew: Izzac Ophus.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sarah; three children: Hunter, Bristol, Boston; dad: Jeffrey (Lori) Dobosenski; mom: Darla Liimatainen; siblings: Russell (Jamie) Dobosenski, Raymond (Jessica) Dobosenski, Rhea Dobosenski, Rachelle (Kiffer) Wasche, Adre Dobosenski, and Hailey Marshall; grandma: Barbara Dobosenski; grandma: Marilyn Kiehl; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 5-7 pm in Hope Lutheran Church, Moose Lake.  There will be no formal service but rather a casual time of gathering and supporting each other.
