Richard Durkin Obituary
Sean graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters degree in Electro-Physics. He had a successful career in the defense electronics industry, working at the Naval Research Lab in Washington, D.C., and later at Dalmo Victor in Belmont, California.
In his free time, Sean enjoyed traveling internationally and listening to a wide variety of music. He lived in Abadiania, in Goi?s state, Brazil, for 18 years, where he worked as a spiritual guide assisting visitors to a pilgrimage site in the area.
Sean is survived by his son, Michael Durkin, granddaughter Leandra Durkin, and daughter-in-law, Sandra Durkin. He is also survived by his nephews Brent Akins and Brandan Akins. Sean was preceded in death by his son Daniel Durkin and sister Kathleen Akins.
A Memorial Mass will be held at the Franciscan Renewal Center in Scottsdale, AZ on May 3 at 10:30 am.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Vacaville, CA on May 8 at 10:00 am. After the church service, Sean will be buried in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery near his son Daniel.
