Angie & JoAnn

I was so sorry to hear about Dick's

passing - we were out of town last

week & just learned. Please accept

my sincerest sympathies. I didn't know him well, but Halloween was

always a treat when he would drive

the grandchildren around the neighborhood. The impression I got was that he was a man who enjoyed life & seemed to want to take everyone along for the ride.

Luckily, "Spanky" happened to stop by his ol' haunt...St. Paul Police Headquarters...the week before he passed away. I know those of us who got to have one last little visit...or a big hug...feel very blessed. Thanks, Spanky! You made our little corner of the world a better place.

Thank you so much to eeryone who has contributed to the guest book, I hope that people will continue to share things about my dad because he meant a great deal to my family and I. I never got to hear all the fun stories and experience as much with my father as alot of people have and I think it is all very interesting, please don't stop writing your memories so that I can fully understand the greatness of my father.

My condolences to the family of Dick Ekwall. I met Dick through our careers in Law Enforcemnt. I valued his sage advice and his no-nonsense approach to problem solving. May you be comforted by the assurance that Dick's contribtions are remembered by the law enforcement community.

My deepest sympathies to the Ekwall family. Dick was a great guy. I got to know him through the St. Paul Police Department as I am a Reserve officer with the department. I will miss his smiling face when he would come out and visit at the St. Fair Police trailer.

Dick has been my brother-in-law for 40 years. Over the time we have played many a practical joke on each other. He would call me on Halloween and I would call him on April Fools. I want you to know how very much I love all of you and know I am here for you anytime you need me.

Love

Auntie Kay

ps he actually told me he was lucky to get my sister.

I first met Dick when Stephanie became my daughter-in-law and was impressed by his closeness to his family and how much they loved him.

He was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by many people.

May your love for Dick and the fond memories of the husband/father he was help you through these difficult times.

I have wonderful memories of Mr. Ekwall. The spontaneous visits down to my parents' house for coffee and a visit, taking us around on Halloween not only as one of the kids but also later my daughter as well, his sense of humor was second to none.

I am so sorry for your family's loss.
