Richard Brady Falk

Richard Brady Falk 98, passed away in Tampa, Florida, June 3, 2024. Richard was born in Savannah Georgia in 1925. He always embodied the grace and affability of a southern gentleman. He was a loving, selfless, husband, father and son and his family adored him.

He developed a passion for listening to classical music and radio as a young man and attended vocational school to repair radios.

Richard joined the army in 1944 and served as a radio engineer during WWII. As a soldier he was able to hear the great orchestras in Europe including performances at the Paris Opera House and Royal Albert Hall. After the war in 1945 he attended Georgia Tech and graduated in Industrial Management.

He moved to Tampa Florida in 1953 to work as a traveling salesman for Tropical Garment Manufacturing Company, a Tampa-based company that produced and distributed men's apparel nationwide. He met and married Judith in 1962 and became the manager of the customer service department where he worked for 23 years at Tropical Garment Manufacturing Company. He was a congregant of Temple Schaarai Zedek and he served as a president of the Temple Brotherhood. Richard loved sailing and spent many wonderful afternoons with his family boating on Tampa Bay.

In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren in Connecticut, working at the Adams City Hatter Hat store in Ybor City and he loved reading the newspaper for the Radio Reading for the Blind program at the radio department at USF.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judith, two children, Linda Howard, Caroline (& Steven Trock) and three grandchildren, Jacob Trock, Evan Trock and Jessie Howard. Internment will take place at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Tampa Florida.
