Richard "Rick" FERGUSON

It is with fond memories and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Stephen Ferguson, at the age of 73, on July 9, 2022 after a courageous fight against Parkinson's disease and Leukemia. He will once again reunite with his beloved father Stephen and mother Mary Ferguson. Rick leaves behind his loving wife Connie of 53 years. His children Scott, Kelly and Erica who meant the world to him along with their spouses Lori, Christopher and Lee who loved and respected him as their own father. He was known as "Papa" to his grandchildren Samantha, Olivia, Carter and Hope. Sister Barbara will especially miss the wit and humour of her brother along with several sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Rick was especially fond of his "Cuz" Shawn Brinda who shared his love of sports. On behalf of the family we thank Nelson and Silvia for their selflessness and help over the past few years. The family would also like to thank the staff at the Welland hospital, the Walker Centre and Hotel Dieu Shaver for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hotel Dieu Shaver Rehab Centre. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pleasantview Funeral Home (905-892-1699). Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Kevin's Catholic Church located at 303 Niagara Street, Welland. Rick will then be laid to rest at Pleasantview Cemetery, 2250 RR20, Fonthill. As Rick would always say "Over & Out". Please share valued memories and condolences online at pleasantviewcemetery.ca
