Richard I. Fish

TOPSHAM - Richard I. Fish, 73, passed away June 6, 2011, in Portland. He was born April 24, 1938, in Bangor, a son of the late Ira and Mary (Howes) Fish. Richard retired from the U.S. Navy as senior chief in 1988. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 0021, Elks Lodge, Brunswick and was a lifelong member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter Lavallee-Garrison 15, since 1988. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Boston Red Sox, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. Richard and his wife, Marie, who passed in December 2008, enjoyed their home in Florida spending many winters there. Richard is survived by his four sons, Thomas Fish and his wife, Jennifer, Wayne Fish and his companion, Donna Greeley, Michael Fish and his fiancee‚ Michelle Nickles, and David Fish; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Melinda Fish; and his pet dog, Lacey. He will be missed by longtime friend, Joe Wolfe. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Marie (Lapree) Fish; and daughter-in-law, Tammy Fish. Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Crosman Funeral Home, Cremation and Monument Services, 40 Main St., Lisbon Falls, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, with the Rev. Gordon Cook officiating. Military honors will be held at the conclusion of the service. Interment will be held privately at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta.
