Richard V. Forth M.D., 73, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023.
Dr. Forth practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Roanoke Valley for 30 years.
Surviving is his wife of 30 years, Cynthia "Cindy" Forth; and his five children and nine grandchildren who were the lights of his life, Susan Fradette, Lauren and Ben; Brad Forth (Elizabeth), Forrest and Beatrice; Julia Azam (Waqar), Lena and Ayla; Chris Forth (Angela), Hudson and Rhodes; and Amy Beahm (Benn) and Caleb.
He enjoyed hunting, sports, cooking, and cheering his family on in their numerous activities every chance he could. Pappy's Friday night family dinners were the highlight of everyone's week.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Oakey's South Chapel. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.Oakeys.com.

While searching for another's obit I came across this one, Dr. Richard Forth. So sorry to hear of his passing. We worked together for many years and he brought my son into this world, attended many little league practices and games as our sons played on the same teams. Love & prayers for his family. "Andi"

Dr Forth was one of the nicest doctors I have even gone to. He would explain everything without being in a hurry and explained to me that was the reason he was private- pay so he could give his patients more time.
His office was immaculate... still feel the cleanest doctor´s office I ever been in.
My local GYN told me I needed three different surgeries. I went to Dr Forth and he did a D&C that care of my issues.
Wonderful doctor and a very kind individual. So sorry to read of his death
I know he will be greatly missed.

I worked first as an RN in labor and delivery with Dr Forth, then later I became his OB nurse. He was not only my boss but he was always a true friend to me! He helped me through 2 bouts of breast cancer serving as an medical advocate for me! I trusted his advice and guidance in a very crucial time in my life! I was very saddened by his passing! Sorry to hear of Dr. Forth´s passing. He was my OB/GYN for many years. He delivered our first child. He was always so kind and attentive! Condolences to his family.

So sorry to hear of Richard´s passing. We were classmates from Woodrow Wilson Jr. and Patrick Henry HS. We sat beside each other and even rendezvoused when I moved to Durham, NC and he was at Duke. Prayers and sympathy are extended to his family. Richard was a smart and kind man.
