Richard Frost Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 4, 2023.
Richard "Ric" Lowell Frost, 58, of Zephyrhills FL passed away on Thursday morning, September 21, 2023. Ric was born in Flint, MI on November 18, 1964 to Donald Richard and Shirley Jean (Vargason) Frost. Ric was the 1982 valedictorian of Flint Christian High School. He earned his bachelor of science degree from Cornerstone University in 2009.

He married Debra "Debbie" Boris July 30, 1988 in Flint MI. Their wedding reception is still being talked about amongst attendees - where the family tradition of the "Alligator" began. Ric and Debbie recently celebrated 35 years of marriage while living in Michigan, Arizona, New Hampshire and Florida.

Ric was a member of the Zephyrhills Moose Lodge where he held positions on the Board of Officers and was the office manager of the Lodge until health reasons forced him to retire.

Ric was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Ric was a generous, fun-loving guy that was devoted to his wife. He loved spending time with his extended family, especially his nieces and nephews - when the geeky kid at heart in him always came out.

Ric tried to live life to the fullest and bring a smile to those around him. In his free time he enjoyed reading, computers, working in the garden and listening to music of all genres. Ric was an avid traveler, visiting family and friends all over the US. He took several cruises to exotic destinations including Greece, Italy, Egypt, Turkey, Alaska and several Caribbean islands.

Family and friends will fondly remember Ric as a funny, unique, kind, sincere and giving person that stayed true to his beliefs. Ric's generosity made it difficult to say No and got him in trouble more than once. A computer whiz before computers were even a thing - Ric could easily explain computers and technology to anybody.

Ric would give the shirt off his back or his last dollar to somebody in need. He showed that generosity each year during the Toys for Tots events at the Moose Lodge which benefit local children and their families.

Ric is survived by his loving and devoted wife Debbie; his parents Donald and Shirley; his sister Theresa (Gary) Hurd; aunts Phyliss, Margaret (Joe), Connie (Jimmy) and Donna; brothers-in-law Steven (Tammy), Anthony (Sherry), David (Rebecca) and their families; nieces and nephews Matthew (Alisha), Michael (Laura), Nicole (Ron) and Courtney (Brian) as well as 11 great-nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church in Kalkaska MI. A second service will be held after the first of the year at the Zephyrhills Moose Lodge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family to help with funeral and travel expenses or to the American Kidney Fund (kidneyfund.org)

My most sincere condolences to the Frost family. I will always treasure the memories of spending time with Ric when we were camping and at the Vargason reunions as we got older. Always a very intelligent and funny guy.

Dear cousin, you will be missed. So many great memories growing up with you. Camping, fishing, swimming, canoeing, and all our other great adventures to ditch the parents and explore. Rest in peace dear Ric!
