Dear Nancy,
Some people make the world a better place just be being in it. Richard was one of those people. My husband was associated with Richard through Tewell's Printing as we were all involved in Denver Rotary's Artists of America. One of my fun memories was when you invited us on a trip on your plane to a Rotary affair in Santa Fe. That was very special!
My husband, Jerry, passed away Oct 1, 2013 at 91. Believe me, I know it's hard to lose someone you love. Take care of yourself, things will get better soon. Renee Tewell

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gooding family at this time. Our memories go back a long time to Richard's grandfather, Jim "Bert" Gooding. He was a friend of my Dad's and came to our house for parties frequently. What I remember most is he always paid the kitchen help which consisted of me and my two sisters. The three generation Goodings always kept us with Pepsi until Richard sold the business. For this we were thankful. They were very generous, thoughtful friends. Richard will be greatly missed.

I was very moved by the beautiful and loving obituary on Mr. Richard Gooding. Although I never met Mr. Gooding personally, I was privileged to have had an encounter with him about 20 years ago that can attest to the remarkable man and philanthropist that he was during his life. I was involved in a scholarship fundraising activity for disadvantaged kids, and called him on the phone to request a donation and explain how funds would be utilized. Not only did he personally answer my phone call, but he was very interested in learning about the school and my involvement with the fundraising activity. To this day I have never forgotten how courteous he was to me on the phone and the generous donation he contributed to the school. It is with deep sorrow that I learned about his death.
With caring thoughts and prayers for your loss,
Kathy Irvine

There is no finer family, I can think of, than the Gooding family. As a teenager, I worked for Bert Gooding, Richard's Grandfather. Over the years, I have watched 3 generations of Gooding's successfully operate a multi-million dollar business. Each grew the business in their own way and they never forgot who helped them reach success. Their employees.
Go in peace, Richard. Your job is done. However, your legacy will never be forgotten.
May the good Lord bless your family with his love and grace and bless your soul forever and ever.

Dear Nancy and Family,
I just learned of Richard's death. I have not seen you since Boulder, but I do remember you well and send my heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I will not be able to attend the 50th reunion so can't give you a hug in person, but know that my thoughts and prayers go with you. Very sorry to hear of Richard's passing. I hope the good memories that both family and close friends have of him will get them through this difficult time. He was very much admired and respected at Pepsi and it was a pleasure to know and work for him. I remember doing work at Richard and Nancy's house (the older home) with Ed Catherman, they were very friendly and treated us like part of the family.

I am honored to have worked for Richard at Pepsi. He was a wonderful/giving person. Richard encouraged his employees to donate and matched the funds. Pepsi just wasn't the same environment after Richard left. He definitely led the way. RIP Richard.

I first met Richard when he worked at Pepsi during summer vacation from school. I worked in Production at the time and Richard did various jobs in the production area one summer – including dumping heavy bags of sugar into the very large tanks. Not and easy job for anyone but especially a teenager still in high school – but Richard worked in probably every department during his summers off. I then worked with him for another 25 years.
I will mostly remember Richard for being such a great role model in working and giving back to the community. He expected and led his Management team to do the same and we all benefited greatly while volunteering for a variety of non-profits. A lot of that community service still goes on today and has passed on to the next generation. So Richards' legacy lives on in many others.
I feel very blessed to have known him and just sorry that it was only 50 years. We are truly saddened by his loss but we thank God that he lived. We pray for peace and comfort for Nancy and the Family.
