Richard Hall Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 27, 2016.
Richard (Dick) Keith Hall, 74, of Brandon finally succumbed to his battle with heart disease on March, 24th, 2016 at University Medical Center, surrounded by those he loved.

Richard was born in London, England on March 23rd, 1942 during the heart of the Blitz. His parents were Mr. Hedley Walter Hall, F.R.C.S. and Mrs. Kathleen Mary Thierry Hall. He grew up in Bath, England, and attended Shebbear College in Devon, England before joining Her Royal Majesty's Grenadier Guards, Queens Company, 1st Battalion at the age of 16. After serving in anti-terrorist operations in West Africa, he returned to England and joined the Royal Corps of Transport and was also accepted into the Special Air Service.

Richard married Rita Margaret Grimes on June 5th, 1971 and they had two children, Simon & James. He worked for the British Airport Authority as Roads Traffic Controller before taking a job as chauffeur and bodyguard to Mr. Dudley Hughes and emigrating to Jackson, MS with his wife and two young children. He was a proud member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists, a graduate of the Rolls Royce Chauffeur Training Institute, and a member of the North American Grenadier Guards Association. His lifelong passion for motorcycles and automobiles was one of his greatest joys, along with his family and pets. He is survived by his wife Rita, Sons Simon and James, and Granddaughter Jade, whom he loved with all his heart and soul.

Funeral Services will be held at Parkway Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS 39157 on Tuesday, March 29th 2016 at 2pm, with a visitation preceding on Monday, March 28th 2016 from 6pm - 8pm at the same location. Rita & family, my deepest condolences on the loss of your patriarch. I will always remember the photo of Richard & Lizzie in the convertible... I like to think of the two of them cruising the heavens. Rita, I will also remember the epic love affair the two of you shared - my heart breaks for you, my friend. Richard will be sorely missed.

Praying for Rita and the boys, and SPECIAL granddaughter as their hearts are broken and Dick's absence so real right now. We so enjoyed the years we were neighbors in Jackson - observing each other's kids grow up. He could shine a limo until it was a mirror and did not stop until it was PERFECT. Will always have fond memories of one who surrendered his life to Christ and told the entire church about it. He has found his mansion in glory and has a NEW body that will never be limited again.Prayers for the family from the Davidsons, Rockall, TX

I will always remember the hours I spent drinking coffee with Dick -- since our favorite coffee shop was near Mr Hughes; house -- as some of the most enjoyable hours of my life. He was a courageous man of wit and sharp intellect, and certainly one of the most interesting chaps on earth. My sincerest condolences.
