Richard "Rick" E. Harper Jr. Leslie Rick, 55, went home to be with his heavenly Father on January 20, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. My condolences to Rick's family. I graduated with Rick from Holly and remember many conversations we had back in the day. I've lived in Williamston for 25 years, as long as worked in Mason for the same time. Not surprising to hear he was a great father & husband, being a man of Christ. I wish I had known he was in the area. May god bless and comfort your family in your time of mourning.

So sad to hear of your family's loss. I remember so many great times with Rick and the Harper family. Growing up just down Oakhurst Rd, we always managed to find something fun to do; camping, football, or just hanging out. I am so to see Rick go at such a young age.

Sincere sympathy to the entire Harper family. We really liked Rick, and respected him very much! All of our love and prayers to Patti, Hannah and Rachel. God is holding you in the palm of his hand! We love you! Edward, Vivian and Joel Michaels, John and Pam Sheldrick and Family.

To the Harper family, I was saddened to hear of Rick's passing, and yet the thought of working alongside him at MDA brought a smile -
God be with all of you and with Rick.

I haven't seen Rick since we worked together at the OAG in the eighties. Those were good times with the NRLs at El Azteco, along with some establishments we frequented on the west side.
Someone told me a few months ago that Rick was sick. I didn't make it back for Christmas last month for the first time since I left. I am sorry that we didn't get to have that last beer.

What a joy to read that Rick knew God and to know that he is receiving his heavenly reward. God bless you Patty and daughters and know that He will send his Comforter to be with you at this time. We are praying for you all.

Rick and I worked on several projects together at the Dept of Ag in the early 2000's. Whenever I came in, he always had a big smile and enjoyed the people he worked with as much as the the work itself. Although I have not seen Rick in several years, I am reminded of the enjoyable times and the great work we did.

My thoughts and prayers go out his family.

Rick's family,

I am Brian's older brother and though I have not seen Rick since college days, when he went with us to Canada on a summer trip, I remember him well as a great guy, funny and willing to have a good time. I also remember that he was thoughtful, kind and gentle. Rick embodied certain ethics on how to treat people and on what was wrong and right that all would do well to emulate. In my heart I miss him on this earth as I know you all do too.

Patti, Hannah and Rachel,

Rick was a true gentleman. I always enjoyed his visits "Up North." He and Brian were friends, but he always included me in conversations and activities, when he was at our house.

He always shared what was going on in your lives. I know he loved you dearly.

I wish you peace, knowing that he is no longer suffering. He was too short on this earth, but I would like to believe he is in the "North Country" of the heavens, riding his motorcycle.

Sincerely,

Pam

Patti, Hannah, and Rachel:

So sorry for your loss. Rick was good man. He was always respectful of you and only talked of his concern for you. I will miss him greatly.

2 Timothy, 4: 6-8:
For I am already being poured out like a libation, and the time of my departure is at hand.
* I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.
* From now on the crown of righteousness awaits me, which the Lord, the just judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but to all who have longed for his appearance.

Amen
