Dr. Henderson was my inspiration for continuing my PhD work through three countries, two states, and the War in Afghanistan. He was a great teacher, and mentor. He guided me from 2005 till his death and consistently proved advice that has proven sound. I will personally miss him as a mentor and I know his passing will have a long term impact on the university.

I only knew Rick for a short time but I learned a lot just being around him, his character, his fun personality, and his professionalism. It was a blessing to have had Rick as my supervisor, role model, and my friend. I know the man has had a pretty fulfilling life and his leadership has inspired many along the journey. I'm honored to say I was one of them.

Dear Mari and Emillee, Rick was always so kind and such a good father. he will always be in our hearts and memories.I pray that you can find some peace and comfort in god. You are sure to be full of strength and carry on. God bless you !

Rick, I miss you as a friend and a colleague. You reached out to me as mentor in my first year as faculty, which I will always remember. The real benefit resulting from that year was our friendship. My sense of loss is shared by the entire community at UIW. Your memory will always be close to my thoughts.

Rick Henderson was a true professional in every sense of the word. It was always a pleasure to talk with him and hear all of his amazing stories about Emily. He loved every member of his family and talked happily about them on many, many occasions. I will miss my dear colleague but am better for having known him.
