So sorry to hear of Richard's recent falling asleep in the Lord. I had the pleasure of working with him when he served as Treasurer for the ASCP. He was a good friend and mentor. May he rest in peace and may his memory be forever eternal.

Dr Horowitz was the Director of Pathology the years I was employed in the lab at SJMC. He was a wonderful man, kind, funny, always looking for a teaching moment and always promoting our education. You will be missed! It was a pleasure knowing you those many years. Condolences to your family.

Dr. Horowitz, you were such a wonderful mentor and teacher to me during my training. I am a better pathologist because of you and my heart is broken to hear that you are no longer with us. At the same time, I am so happy for you that you now rest at peace in the loving embrace of our Creator. My prayers are with your family.

Dr Horowitz was a doctors doctor. He cared deeply for medicine. I was privileged to spend an entire summer in his pathology laboratory during medical school learning from this wonderful teacher. He used his love for pathological autopsy to create a window for myself and many other medical students and physicians to understand medicine and become critical thinkers. We were stimulated to learn because of his intellect and witty humor which he focused on for the betterment of his students. I will miss him. Condolences to the family.

Dr Horowitz would conduct his lectures to VA/USC residents across the hall from my Laboratory office. He was a special individual who shared his wisdom, common sense and humor to the younger generation of pathologists generously and competently. We were all fortunate to have this precious man as part of our lives. My condolences to his family, please remember him with joy.

Dr. Horowitz was one of the best teachers I ever had at the va when I was a resident. His passion and advocacy for autopsy pathology inspired a shared interest in its importance in national public health.
