Richard Samuel Howell

Richard Samuel Howell, 52, of Clare, MI passed away on December 30, 2023. Rich worked as a long distance truck driver, traversing the country and experiencing its vast landscapes. Despite the long days on the road, he always found solace in returning home to his beloved family. Born on January 27, 1971, Rich attended Millington High School, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Beyond his career, Rich had a deep passion for sports. He was an avid supporter of the University of Michigan and the Detroit Red Wings, cheering them on with unmatched enthusiasm. In his leisure time, he enjoyed the thrill of playing PlayStation.


Rich is survived by his son, Garrett Howell, and bonus daughter, Sydnee Sutliff. He also leaves behind his brother, Matthew (Jacqueline) Howell, and sister, Lisa (Thomas) Walser. Rich cherished his close friends, Margo and Larry Zelinski, and Heidi Bayford. Additionally, he will be fondly remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews.


A wake is scheduled to take place on February 3rd, from 1-3 PM, at the
American Legion in Grand Blanc, located at 375 E Grand Blanc Road. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and loved ones to come together and celebrate Rich's life.


In honor of Rich's memory, his family kindly requests that donations be made to Garrett Howell. May his adventurous spirit and love for his family forever be remembered and cherished.
