Richard Huttleston

Endicott - Richard Huttleston, 89, of Endicott, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2021 at Susquehanna Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his wife, Marian; son, Gary; grandson, Lon; sisters, Pat and Dianne and his parents, Pauline Hoag and Linn Huttleston. Richard is survived by his daughter, Teri Brogdale; great grandchildren, Connor, Ryan and Kenadee; sisters, Donna (Gary) and Judy (Nelson); brother, Gary (Carol). Richard graduated from Greene High School and joined the U.S. Navy, later attending Delhi College. He worked at Binghamton Savings Bank where he met Marian. They were married January 17, 1959. Richard was a hardworking man. With Kurt Franzenburg he started Franzenburg Huttleston Homes, later Huttleston Homes, and designed and built homes in Crestview Heights in Endicott. He ran Huttleston Appraisal Service and also served as a Tioga County Legislator for 26 years. Richard was very proud of the accomplishments of his children and always wanted to see them succeed. Teri would like to thank the third-floor staff at Susquehanna for everything they did for Richard, especially during the pandemic. Per Richard's request, there will be no services.

His pain and fear are gone, and there is no more sorrow. His life is new.

Revelation 21:4 "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."

Dick was a wonderful colleague of mine and loved his wife Marian so much. I had the pleasure to talk to him all the time. He used to come to my open houses. I will miss seeing him and Marian at Wegmans Cafe. They came there for coffee and dessert! Condolences to his family♥

Teri, I am very sorry for your loss. Remember that life doesn’t end, it just changes form. You’ll all be together again in Heaven. Your Dad was lucky to have you. I have happy memories of your family. For many years, your Dad took early morning walks in the neighborhood with friends - I enjoyed starting my day hearing him amicably chatting away and laughing. And your Mom’s sense of humor was exceptional: she always had my Mom & I in tears from laughing so hard. You & your family are in my prayers. God Bless You, Lisa Gance

Teri,
So sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He was a very talented and dedicated man. I miss seeing him at work, stopping by our house to visit and running into him at Wegman's. May he now rest in peace.

Richard was one of my residents, I'm thankful for the time that I was able to spend with him, he was a soft gentle person with a big soft heart. I loved hearing his stories about all of the houses that he helped build. I will never forget you Ruchard, you have a special.place in my heart. I love you and miss you

I worked with Dick at Tioga County and remember his funny speeches at events. Enjoyed seeing him at the Brogdale Thanksgiving dinner with Marian. Dick and I had lovely visits every time i saw him in the nursing home. Marian was a lovely friend, too. She was a hoot. With deepest sympathy to Teri. Love,

This saddens me, although I recognize that Dick is in a better place now. I had great respect for him as the legislator for the Department of Social Services. Dick and Marian always graciously attended our events. He cared greatly for the staff of all the Tioga County departments that he oversaw and I'm sure his absence has been felt.
