In the late-1970s he was so kind to me. I was a little boy in 1st or 2nd grade and he would ask me if I had any gum. When I said "no," he'd offer me a stick of Wrigley's Double Mint gum. I used to sit at the cashier/receptionist counter in the parts/service department of my grandfather's Chrysler-Plymouth dealership in Pomona with my aunt (a teenager herself at the time) who was working and watching me and he would chat me up through the slot in the glass that separated the business office, where his desk was, from the cashier booth. Such a sweet and funny guy. I never saw him again after my grandfather's funeral in 1988 when I was like 16 years old. But I have incredibly vivid memories of him. And his strong bond and business relationship with my grandpa and uncle Jimmy. What a wonderful man. So sorry he's gone.

Dick became my brother-in-law in 1952 when he married my older sister Joan. I was six. We watched them move to Georgia, then back to Buffalo where they grew their family. I drove their car to California in 1968 when they began another big chapter. I lost touch after that, but last saw Dick about five years ago. He worked out at the gym, went to the office and still had a HS picture of Joan on his phone. He was part of my growing up, my original family, which is almost gone. May he Rest In Peace.

Dick was my brother 16 yrs older than I. When he was babysitting me he loved to play basketball at our HS down the street. He would take me and our dog Tippy and ties us both to a nearby tree where he could watch out for us while shooting a three pointer.
