Jake Hyde, 84, of Napoli, NY, passed away on February 22, 2024. Born on March 30, 1939, in Buffalo, NY, Jake, now retired, was a dedicated employee as a welder for American Boiler Company and other manufacturing industries, serving as a union Stewart and later as a Forman. He took pride in his woodworking craftsmanship. He was known for his generosity, imaginative spirt, strong options and hardworking nature. Jake is a veteran of the Army and served from 1958 to 1962.

In his free time, Jake enjoyed making precision and intricate woodworking projects in his shop such as: pool cues, spice racks, jewelry boxes, console tables and end tables. He enjoyed shooting pool, fishing (both regular and ice), and exploring the culinary arts through food and cooking. His hobbies reflected his creative and hands-on approach to life.

Jake is survived by his daughter, Deborah Buyers, son Richard Hyde, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sister, Brenda (Jeffery) Jakiela-Wilcox, 11 nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews, and 11 great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Hyde, father, Rutherford Hyde, mother, Ida Jakiela, Stepfather Bernard Jakiela and ,brothers, Paul (Victoria) Jakiela, and Dennis (Linda) Jakiela.

Jake Hyde will be remembered for his skilled craftsmanship, generosity, and dedication to work. His ingenuity and convictions left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
