Richard Jaeger An attorney, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother died Monday, April 23, 2007 in San Francisco, at the age of 71. Mr. Jaeger is survived by his wife, Lauraine; children, Stephen and Nicole; stepchildren, Paul, Lisa and Karina; grandchildren, Daniel, Alexandra and Audrey; step-grandchildren, Ben and Lara; and brother, Irving. He is the son of the late Philip and Emma Jaeger. Mr. Jaeger received a B.A., cum laude, from Harvard College; a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School; and a J.D. from Boalt Hall, University of California, Berkeley, where he was editor of the Law Review, Member of the Order of the Coif, and in the top 10 of his graduating class. Mr. Jaeger litigated complex securities, business, real estate and employment cases and served as both an arbitrator and a mediator. However, the work that was most meaningful to him was his advocacy on behalf of the disabled and disenfranchised. Most notably, he successfully argued habeus corpus, asylum and discrimination claims. During Mr. Jaeger's tenure as president of the Bay Area Chapter of The American Jewish Committee, he was the founding chairman of the Catholic Jewish Educational Enrichment Program (C/JEEP). Mr. Jaeger also served as a member of the board of directors for the Jewish Vocational Services, The Hebrew Free Loan Association and the Police Activities League. Services will be held Wednesday, April 25, 1:30 PM at Netivot Shalom, 1316 University Avenue, Berkeley, followed immediately by burial at Home of Eternity Cemetery, 5000 Piedmont Ave., Oakland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the C/JEEP program at the American Jewish Committee, 121 Stewart St., Suite 405, SF, CA 94105 and Netivot Shalom. How deeply I wish that I could be with you today as you say goodbye to Rick. For over 40 years, he has been part of my life, part of my extended family. His loss is a profound one. Love to all the family.

I was sorry to learn of Rick's death. When we were partners at Feldman, Waldman & Kline, I came to admire not merely his abilities, but his boundless energy and enthusiasm and his zest for living. I know he will be missed and extend my deepest sympathies to his family and many friends.

We knew Rick in high school and saw him several times since then. He was a primary player in those wonderful days at Walnut Hills and those of us who knew him then feel a loss in spite of the scarcity of contacts in recent years. We send our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

Rick- my fellow member of The Mediation Society- was a great friend. He always had a smile and something interesting to talk about. I will really miss seeing and talking to him. To his family-you were the most important to him. Please accept my condolences. Elizabeth Tippin
