Richard L. Johnson Richard L. Johnson, 83, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023. Rich was born in Howard County, IN to Eva Lucille (Reece) and Ernest DeWayne Johnson in 1939. He graduated from Jackson Center High School in 1957 and Fort Wayne International Business College in 1960. He served 2 years on active duty in the U.S. Army, including a year in South Korea, and 4 years in the U.S. Army Active Reserves.

Rich met his future wife, Janet (Wasson) Johnson, at S.S. Kresge Co. (Kmart) where he worked for 36 years. They married in 1967 and raised three children in Fort Wayne, IN. Rich retired in 2001 and moved with Janet to Long Lake (Coldwater, MI) where he enjoyed gardening, fishing, boating, and spending time with his family.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents and sister Carol Joanne Johnson. He is survived by his wife Janet, daughter Michelle Johnson, sons Matthew Johnson and Michael Johnson, daughter-in-law Angela (Pomilio) Johnson, and grandchildren Drew and Alexis.

Light refreshments will be served after the service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Coldwater United Methodist Church, Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary, or the Alzheimer's Association.

Hello Jan, We just saw that Rich had passed. Had I known earlier I would have come to funeral. I have been thinking of you two. We enjoyed being your neighbors at Long Lake. Our prayers are with you. Ken & Phyllis Miller
