Richard Raymond Kania, 72, of South Charleston, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012. He served proudly for the United States Army. He retired from Volkswagen of America Stamping Plant as a supervisor with over 20 years of service. He was a resident of South Charleston and the owner of Pam's Nifty Fifties. He had many friends and acquaintances and will be sadly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents John Kania and Mary Zdunczyk Bartnicki; wife, Pam Kania and step-son, George Eric Taylor; sister, Sally Georgia; brother, John Kania. Rick is survived by his three daughters, Carrie Dalton, Shelly Kornell, and Meredith Taylor; son, Richard Raymond Kania, Jr and wife Cara Ann Kania; grandchildren, Cody, George Erik, Cambrie, Charles, Chloie; sister, Diane Stelter; brothers, Edward Kania, Ralph Kania, and Bobby Kania; and many nieces and nephews. A Service to Honor the Life of Rick will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston with Chaplain Terry Yahr officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Family and friends may visit from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the funeral home.
