Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of Dick.
I was behind Dick, in the class of 1964 at Marshall High. Dick was at the heart of anything fun. He loved to make people happy. And beautiful Lynn, homecoming queen the year after I graduated. She was such a doll.
They were very special people, and left many friends and acquaintances with good memories. Heroes do that.

I am saddened to hear of Dick's passing. He was a significant person to
me during my high school years. I did not play organized basketball but I remember how he raised the level of play in our pickup games. He is one of
those people I have thought of many times over the years even though we had no contact after high school. I happened to be on the Augsburg campus the day before Dick's memorial. I wish
I had known of his death before today
(Sept 9th). My sympathy to his familiy
and loved ones.

To all family and friends of Mr. kelley-
He was a very nice man, and made many work days worth it. I worked at Canterbury Park and enjoyed his company on many occasions. He will be missed on many levels, and he will always have a place within my heart.

I am very sad to learn of Dick's death and am sorry I am out of town and will be unable to be at his memorial service. Dick was a favorite of my dad who enjoyed his company and conversations on morning car rides to Marshall before we had our licenses.
Daddy also followed Dick's athletic career and enjoyed watching him play basketball in high school and at Augsburg. Dick referred to himself as my "brother" which filled me with pride; we had a sweet friendship as we grew up. Your darling mother, Margaret, was our daughter Margaret's favorite babysitter when we lived on Arthur Ave. in Prospect Park and I kept track of the Kelley clan through your proud mom. Dick's life blessed all our worlds and I believe his sweet, strong enduring spirit is close by all of you offering comfort and peace. May you each feel his presence as you come together to remember and honor his life with love and thanksgiving. My heartfelt sympathy in losing this special guy.
Blessings to each of you.

I am very sad to learn of Dick's death and am sorry that I am out of town and will be unable to be at his memorial service. Dick was a particular favorite of my dad who enjoyed his company when he drove us to Marshall many mornings before we had our licenses and daddy followed Dick's athletic career with great interest and watched him play at Augsburg on occasion. Dick called himself my "brother" which filled me with pride; we had a very sweet friendship. His darling mother, Margaret, was the favorite babysitter of our daughter, Margaret, when we lived on Arthur Ave. in Prospect Park and I kept track of the Kelley clan through their proud mom. To Gail, Paul, Craig and Steven and Nancy, I send my heartfelt sympathy. Dick's life was a gift to our worlds and I believe his spirit is close around you all, offering comfort and peace. May you find that each day as you remember and think of him with love and thanksgiving.

Richard (Dickey) Kelly, of the Paul and Margaret Kelly family, is for all intent and purposes a true Minneaploitan who I have known virtually as long as I have known myself from our beginnings in North Minneapolis to our formative years in South Minneapolis. He was certainly a talented individual that I find myself once again having to say so long to another long time friend and acquaintance.
