I met Rick my first day of work at KIXE PBS. He was volunteering for the Holiday Auction. I was super nervous directing my first auction. Rick sat next to me in master control. Every time there was a break he told me what a good job I was doing. He was the reason I was able to get through that first night. He also traced a picture of his hand and gave it to me when the night was over, he said here is a big hand, you did a great job. I laughed so hard. It was just what I needed to know I did good! I still have the piece of paper!
Rick also showed up the next week with a handmade wooden sign for my desk. He made everyone at KIXE their own name to put on their desks at work. I still have mine on my desk today. I will remember his smile when I look at my name. He had such a warm smile and was so kind.
I send my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

My first memory of Richard is his big, beautiful smile when he walks into the bank. I loved seeing him daily and at Friday night in the park! A very special man Im am better for knowing him. You will be missed my friend.

I´m really not sure when it was that we met but Rick was one of those people who would always be welcoming and warm hearted. His smile was always there and he was great about remembering names! We both sat on the Shasta Youth Otions board and Rick always brought donuts. ( our meetings were very early in the morning). He was proud of his city and really enjoyed representing the people of the City of Shasta Lake. He was an amazing guy. He will be missed. I enjoyed serving with him.

I had the pleasure of working with him in his position on the City Council. I worked for the Shasta EDC. I enjoyed his big smile and pleasant demeanor. He was a joy to be around and his energy was pervasive!
