Richard Kmak Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 9, 2025.
Richard Arthur Kmak, 75, passed away on June 26, 2025, in North Port, Florida. Born on October 12, 1949, in Rahway, New Jersey, Richard lived a life marked by dedication to his country and deep devotion to his family.

From 1968 to 1972, Richard proudly served in the United States Navy. His years of service reflected his strong sense of duty and commitment-qualities that would continue to define him throughout his life.

Richard was a loving husband to Carmen Kmak and a devoted father to his two sons: Richard C. Kmak and his wife Maria, and Brian D. Kmak and his wife Jedi. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Gabriel, Daniel, and Skylar, finding great joy in their presence and accomplishments.

He is also remembered with love by his sister Nancy Webb; brothers Michael Kmak, Gregory Kmak, and Daniel Kmak; and numerous nieces and nephews who were touched by his warmth and kindness.

Richard found great pleasure in simple joys-especially setting up his model trains with care and precision. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family. Whether gathered for holidays or everyday moments, these times together were what he valued most.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Henry Kmak.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Richard was very special and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him. A Service will be held on July 17, 2025, from 09:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Sarasota National Cemetery 9810 State Road 72
