Richard Kroner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 27 to Mar. 1, 2015.
QUINCY -- Richard John Kroner was born in Quincy on Nov. 10, 1935, and died in Quincy on Feb. 25, 2015, but in between was a life well-loved and lived.

He was a son of John and Agnes (Weitholder) Kroner.

Dick is survived by his wife and sweetheart, Joyce Neuman, who he married on June 14, 1958, at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He graduated from Quincy High School in 1953 and proudly served as a U.S. Marine like his brother, Merle, and later his grandson, Scott. Semper Fi.

As a dedicated family man, he endured over 35 Quincy winters delivering mail for the U.S. Post Office.

Favorite pastimes included family, traveling (both nationally and internationally), reading, eating a good meal, family camping trips and home renovations. He liked to take the road less traveled, and he never stopped exploring. He was the original tree-hugger and passed these traditions on to his family.

Left to carry on his legacy and tell his stories are his wife, Joyce; daughters, Julie (Chris) Tong, Patty (Terry) Tournear and Connie (Steve) Esslinger; son Richard (Creena) Kroner; grandchildren, Jessica (Geoff) Bentele-Staten, Nathaniel Tong, Raleigh (Kylene) Shade, Chase Shade, Claire and Joseph Esslinger and Scott, Cassie, Kayla and Rebecca Kroner; and great-grand-daughter, Gianna Staten.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sylvia Wellman and Marjean Entrup; and a brother, Merle. Also departed before him was a bevy of dogs, mostly schnauzers.
