To all the Longley Family~
I don't think my family was ever not connected to the Longley family. Growing up just up the street from Dick's folks, Goldie&John, my mom, Blanche and his sister "Gogo" being life-long best friends, and the four of them, my mom and Dad and Gogo and Tata being life-long couples friends, going to high school with John, sitting between him and Neil in chemistry and getting little else out of the class but laughter, all wonderful memories. How fortunate you all were to have Dick for so long! May memories bring joy to ease your grief.

My condolences to Linda and the rest of the family. I am so thankful to have had such a wonderful man in my life. We told each other so many stories about each other, we could have made a book. We loved to watch the birds . Most of all the humming birds.I would name each bird that came on the window. Papa would laugh. The only one we really could tell apart was Febe. Her beak was as long as her body.He taught me alot about wild animals, too. He was the best. RIP Papa Go Red sox!

I remember when Dick started out as a game warden . He and Cora and Danny lived next to us in The Forks. I was very young but remember what a nice man he was and how attractive they both were. My Dad was a game warden and the two of them worked together for a while. I have often wondered about them. I believe I still have a picture of Danny out playing in the snow?

I remember Dick as a game warden. He was such a nice man and a great warden. He came to our house once to help my father pull porcupine quills from our dog. Dick Longley's name comes up often when we talk of game wardens that worked in our area in Maine. Or thoughts and sympathies are with Dick's family at this time. Cherish all of the memories that your family has of this great man and share them often.

My sincerest condolences to all of the Longley families, but especially my dear friend Linda, you have been so strong and supportive to your Dad, and I know he enjoyed and cherished your unselfish Love and time you gave him. Prayers go out to you and your family. Our parents are an extension of who we are, and it is never easy to let them go. Thankfully, Papa lived a good long life and he doesn't suffer any more! Love you, Joan
