Dear Carole
It was indeed a shock to hear of Richard's passing. I think of the times in Minneapolis, the long flights to the Orient and the long conversations Richard and I had over the phone. I recall your hospitality and kindness in Arizona, and will keep those memories with me, especially when I'm on two wheels. May the Lord bless you and keep you.

Seeing Patrick and Stephane after so many years just made me think how Rick was so proud of them as he spoke to me about them many years ago. I am sure that he will continue to do so now that he is in heaven, a place where he felt so confortable to be near. All my sympaties to Carole, Steph and Pat.

Dear Carole and family,
I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Richard. Richard and I had known each other since our early teens. Everyday I pass where we went to school and where we lived. It has brought back many good memories.
Richard was a kind, honest and compassionate spirit. The world is a lesser place without him in it.

To dear Rick, we've had our share of drinking, dancing, hopes and desires, and occasionally sang the song of life. As a wise man once said, in the depths of hope and desires so lies the silent knowledge of the beyond. Rick, the hopes and desires have now brought you home to the now and the beyond. For what it is to die, but stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun. Rick, a great majority of your life has been spent flying into the wind and chasing the sun. It is only now that you are free to stand naked in the glory of your being. Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. Rick, God only knows we all had our share of drinking and singing, and now that the body is silent, can your spirit truly sing. It gives me a great pleasure to sing this song of your new arrival. The freedom shall make you sing. So sing my friends, sing, there is a new day arising.
To Carol my beloved sister, to Pat, Kandi, Gracie, to Steph and to the Loyer family in your greatest moments of despair, hold onto your hopes and desires, and the love that you have for Richard.
My deepest condolences for the departure of Richard.
My heartfelt joy and sorrow to all who loved him. Godspeed Rick

Dear Carole and Family,
Our deepest sympathies. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.
Carole continue to be strong as we know you are. You and your family have been through so much in the last few months.
Carole, I will be with you in spirit on September 19th.
Memories: meeting Richard for the first time in our new appartment on Main street. Celebrating our futures with a drink while sitting on the carpet(no furniture). We will never forget your visit with us one Christmas. Playing cards, laughing and having good cheers. Also our visit to Lancaster with the girls. Our only regret is that we did not get together more often.
Love you!

Dear Carole and family,
It was a great shock to me to hear of Rich's passing, I am still grappling with the thought and have trouble believing it still. As you know we go back a long way, to primary school and even then Richard was determined to become a pilot. I have fond memories of rich coming to my place to speak with my dad who worked in Transport Canada at the time. I remember fondly spending the night in the cockpit of the 747 that rich was Captain on on a flight from New Delhi to London Heathrow. The plane had been 8 hrs late due to a mechanical and I was dozing in my seat and someone came long and shook me awake saying what are you doing on my airplane. Richard was a true professional and I see that that part of him lives on in his son who has taken up the profession. I look forward to seeing you on Saturday; please accept my sincerest sympathy Carole and to your family as well Richards's . If there is anything you need that I can do do not hesitate to ask.

Dear Carole and Family
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Richard was a very kind-hearted and helpful soul. The assistance and encouragement he offered my brother after hearing about his situation, will always be appreciated. After Richard's retirement, he kept in touch via e-mail from Arizona. It was always nice to get an update from DesertFoxx about the weather(+40 vs. our -40!), pictures of his granddaughter Grace or information on one of the many topics he was passionate about. It was a pleasure to fly with you Capt Loyer. May you find peace in the big sky...

Dear Carole and Family,
Rick and were collegues at Air Canada. We never flew together, but had many discussions as we passed each other in flight planning or walking in from the parking lot. I always enjoyed those brief chats as Rick was a very insightfull person and I learned a lot from him. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him. My deepest sympathy to all.

Dear Carole, Patrick, Stephane, Aunt Rose, Claire & Lise,
To my dear cousin Richard,
Beautiful memories are wonderful things, they last till the longest day, they never wear out, they never get lost, and can never be given away. To some you may be forgotten, to others part of the past. But to us who loved and lost you, your memory will always last.
God Bless, Mike & Lorraine
