MAIDA, Richard The owner of Vetture's Pizzeria and Restaurant and a pillar of the East Lake community, "Coach" Richard Maida, 71, passed away February 28, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born on September 30, 1950 in Tacoma, Washington. After moving all over the world with his family, they settled in Alabama for a number of years and then Staten Island, New York. He later moved to Tarpon Springs, Florida where he spent the rest of his years. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Dianne Maida of 37 years. He was the loving father of Richard Maida (Christina), Jodi Maida, Corey Maida (Kaysea), Kelli Kontodiakos (Costa); adored PopPop of Jacquelyn, Julia, William, Emily, Sophia, Isabella, Mia Grace, Dianna, and Maxine; brother of Robert and Joanne. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Robert Maida. As his many friends would tell you, he was always quick-witted and ready with his "one-liners". I knew Rick as young teens in Flatbush He would help his Uncle Frank on the Coca Cola truck delivering soda to my Dads deli( Dick)? on Nostrand avenue and I was working with my dad. One time his uncle was coming to Florida for a visit and my dad was visiting us. We arranged for a surprise meeting for the two of them at Vettures. I won´t forget the faces of those two men. Rick was a great guy and I am deeply sorry to hear about this. My condolences and prayers for comfort for his family
