I knew Rick during the 70 and 80s. He was a great guy. Intelligent, funny, talented and an inspiration to be around. It is so sad that he passed so young with so much left to offer. My he rest in peace. My deepest condolences to his family.

Pete Dowan here. Rick was in a couple of bands with me in the early 1970's. Great guy, excellent drummer, and the biggest Skip Prokop fan I ever encountered ! So sorry to hear of his passing. I know he will be missed. Heaven will now be an even better place.

I've only seen Rick a couple of times since highschool but I remember him well from our days at BCHS. Back around 1962 I was a close friend of his older brother Bill. We would spend time at their house listening to their great collection of Beatle records and learning to play the guitar. Rick developed into an excellent drummer. He bought the fattest drumsticks he could find (called them "logs") because he liked to hit his drums hard and thin sticks wouldn't last long in his hands. Wishes of sympathy to brother Bill and the rest of Rick's family. Although I hadn't seen Rick for many years, I remember him with fondness from back in the '60s when we all aspired to be rock and roll musicians but ended up as professors, lawyers, chiropractors and computer executives. Love the photo of Rick with a pint of beer in his hand. I will raise one in his memory later today.

I had the honour of meeting Rick for only a few short hours, yet hearing so much about him from Marilyn, I felt I had known him for many years. Rick was a very special man who was loved by all who knew him. He is gone too soon. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss.
