AMESBURY — Richard M. "Rick" Marshall, 52, of Amesbury died suddenly Sunday, July 13, 2008 at his home. He was born in Niskayuna, N.Y. Feb. 6, 1956 and was the son of Barbara A. (Betka) Marshall of Amesbury and the late Richard R. "Dick" Marshall.

He worked for the past 30 years as a draftsman at Merrimack Engineering in Andover.
Rick was a very outgoing person and extremely friendly to everyone he met. His passion was his beloved white Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Ricketts, as he was affectionately known, will be greatly missed by all his "lake" friends.

Coffman and her husband, Bruce of Kingston, N.H.; aunts, Eileen Marshall of Naples, Fla. and Ruth Talas of Hampton, N.H.; uncle, Alfred Marshall of Martha's Vineyard; nephews, Christopher Mainville and Ryan Coffman, both of Kingston, N.H. and Chad Coffman of Byfield; and his dear friend Janet Bailey. There are also several cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral Mass on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity, 4 Green St., Merrimac. my precious cousin ricky, we were blessed with a special bond. you were the cutest little toe head to ever walk this earth. at least aunt ruth thinks so! how you could be so adorable and such a terror (espiecially to donna and terri) always baffled me. remember tearing down the fence at seabrook beach so dick and tim could serenade us with "old man river" by the campfire, not knowing which would get us first-the tide or the police! remember all of the xmas eves with nana , always ending with our family's awesome rendition of "silent night"? you were an awesome santa claus, even though your nephew chris knew who you were. remember the pool parties, espiecially on the 4th of july, shaking up the neighborhood with fireworks? you did a mean cannonball. remember our family band led by aunt eileen? you sang a mean "chicken pot pie". remember the thanksgiving football games, blackberry brandy, and nana's annual story of how dick was her thanksgiving turkey? i still say i threw a better football than you.
remember our marathon tutoring sessions? i was amazed at how you soaked up trigonometry like a sponge. i was so proud of you, and also very thankful for my payment in 6 packs. who said learning math can't be fun!
be at peace, knowing how much you are loved by so many.
mom and the family will be well taken care of.
i will still always feel your big bear hugs. have one waiting for me... cousin toni

To all of Rick's family Please accept my sincerest condolences... I remember many fun times at your Aunt Eileen and Uncle Al's place. Your Dad, Dick, was not only my brother-in-law's brother, but my first insurance agent many years ago. Be at peace until we all meet again.

Ricky, I can't believe you are gone. I will miss you so much. We had our squabbles like every brother and sister but being only 10 months apart, we had a special bond. I am so sorry I wasn't there for you when you needed me the most. I should have known. My heart is broken in two and I don't think it will ever mend. It hurts so much. You are with Dad now. Give him a big hug and kiss for me and tell him I love him. You will both be in my heart forever.
Until I see you again, I love you and will miss you more than you will ever know.
Love, Sis.

Words can't describe how much we will miss your big ready smile, laugh, hugs, stories (even if we already heard them), watching ball games and races, going for motorcycle rides and having a friend who is always there for you. There will always be an empty spot in our hearts. We miss and love you!!!!
