Austin - Richard Allen Mayotte passed away in Austin, Texas surrounded by family on Saturday, 7 June 2025 after several years of declining health.

Ricard was born 25 January 1947 the middle son of Anselme and Beatrice (Matte) Mayotte and lived most of his life in the Webster Massachusetts area. It was only about five years ago that he moved to Austin, Texas to be near his son, Benjamin, daughter-in-law, Thidarat and grandsons, Zachary and Sean. Both boys were the light of his life and he enjoyed going to breakfast on Sundays with Zachary and sitting in his chair with Sean on his lap telling him stories.

Richard attended Webster Public schools and after joined the United States Marie Corps with is best friend, Anthony (Blaze) George. He entered service in Boston on 29 March 1966. During his time in the Corps, he served two tours in Viet Nam for a total of 26 months and was a Hydralic-pneumatic mechanic. His military hours incluede the National Defense Ribbon, Viet Nam Service medal with 3 stars, Viet Nam Campaign ribbon, Meritorious Mast, Good Conduct medal and Rifle Marksman badge. He also received a Presidential Unit Citation and Naval Unit Commendation. He was released from the Marines on 28 March 1970 having obtained the rank of SGT. He was a tractor trailer driver for 40+ years.

Richard had a lifelong love for all New England sports teams with the Boston Red Sox his favorite. He also enjoyed thoroughbred horse racing especially the "Triple Crown".

He was predeceased by his mother Beatrice, father Anselme and younger brother Jeffery. He leaves his son Benjamin (Thidarat), grandsons Zachary and Sean, his dog Abigail, brother Armand (Irene), sister-in-law Judy Robbins (Terry Hayes) nephews Michael Mayotte and Griffin Marion, niece Sherri Mayotte, several other cousins and a wide circle of friends. He also leave his wife of 52 years, Arlene.

At this time as he requested, there will not be any services but a memorial is being planned for this summer in Massachusetts. At his request, expressions of condolence may be made to:
