Richard S. Minkoff

YORK Richard S. Minkoff, 68, died peacefully at home in the loving arms of his wife, Lois. He will join the angels with his son, Scott Adam Minkoff. Originally from Hillside, N.J., he moved to Parsippany to raise his family and finally settled in York. He was the son of the late Philip and Jean Minkoff. His grieving wife, Lois I. Minkoff (nee Schaefer) was his high school sweetheart. Their marriage lasted 49 years but their love will go on forever. The relationship with his loving and devoted daughter, Demeri R. Mullin of Perkasie, Pa., was one of a kind. There was a special bond there that could never be broken. Demeri is the wife of Daniel S. Mullin. Richard's ultimate happiness came from his grandchildren, Scott Nevin Mullin (age 6 1/2 ) and Brenna Rachael Mullin (age 4 1/2 ). His pride was evident as he watched his grandkids come into this world and grow into beautifully kind children. His last wish is for his memory to live on with them. Richard was a successful business man owning a food booth and clothing store at the old Union Marketplace in Union, N.J. He was wise and knowledgeable and had an interest in investments and finances and was able to assist family and friends with financial concerns. He loved playing with his grandchildren, sports (especially football), horseracing, and at one time was NJ State Champ at Billiards. Richard was a kind, devoted, caring, brave, and reserved man. Anyone who knew Richard knew he was a good man. Interment will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at 1 p.m. at B'Nai Abraham Cemetery, 2600 Route 22 East, Union, N.J. Family and friends are invited to sit Shiva at the home of Demeri Mullin immediately following interment on Wednesday and on Thursday, March 6. A celebration of his life will also be held at his home in York on Saturday, March 15, from 1 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a tax deductible memorial contribution can be made on behalf of Scott and Brenna for their college funds.
