RICHARD MICHAEL NEUER
AGE: 61 TINTON FALLS
Richard Michael Neuer, 61, of Tinton Falls, passed on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bronx, N.Y., he later moved to Tinton Falls in 1989. He was employed with the Signal Department of New Jersey Transit Rail, retiring after 30 years of service in 2008. He proudly served the U.S. Navy until 1967 out of Norfolk, Virginia (USS Wallace L.Lind), earning the National Defense Service Medal. His love for the sea and fishing often took him on his boat with his wife, family and friends from Shark River inlet in search of the ever elusive "doormat" or Mako. He was an avid pool player and loved handicapping the horses at Monmouth Park. However, his greatest joy was being with his family, with whom he shared many a story and lots of laughs.
He is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Florence Neuer. Surviving are his adoring wife, Carol Neuer; his children, Richard and Joshua Neuer, Kimberly Krebs, Elizabeth Saulnier and husband Michael; two grandchildren, who knew him as "Papa", Logan Kettle and Lucas Saulnier; his brothers, Hank Neuer and wife Ellen, and Thomas Neuer; his sisters, Margaret Schillizzi and husband Steven, and Patricia Munzelle and husband Ed; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6 and 8:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7 at Bongarzone Funeral Home, 2400 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of St. Anselm, Tinton Falls. All other services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House, would be greatly appreciated. I worked with Richie for 16 years. I had so much fun with him as did everybody else. We always talked about retirement and I'm so sad he only got a little time. My condolences to his wonderful family whom he was so proud of. He's in my heart and may he rest in peace.

Oh my sweet daddy, I can't believe I'm reading this. I can't stop crying. I love you and I miss you so very much, it's so painful. I promise that mommy will be okay. I promise that your Logie Bear will be okay. I promise that everyone will be okay. I will be strong and I will hold everyone together. Sleep now daddy, with no worries and no pain. You are my special angel in heaven. I love you with all of my heart, Kimberly ("sussy") xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
