Richard Ohrberg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 13, 2007.
Richard Roy Ohrberg, 80, returned to his Heavenly Father on November 11, 2007, at his home. His passing is attributed to a short but difficult struggle with pancreatic cancer.
No public services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Cremation Society of Idaho, Boise.
Richard was born February 10, 1927, in Moline, Ill., to Fritz Einar Ohrberg and Mary Dowdal-Ohrberg. He attended schools in Illinois, Iowa, New York and Massachusetts, and graduated from the University of Oklahoma.
He served with the U.S. Navy as a combat air crewman during World War II in the Pacific theater. He was employed by the Department of Defense and Department of the Army as an industrial specialist in project management for 32 years.
On March 18, 1951, Richard married Betty Ball in Davenport, Iowa. They lived, worked and raised two children in the Quad-Cities area of Iowa-Illinois. Both Richard and Betty were active participants in the Boy Scout and Girl Scout organizations. After retirement in 1982, they relocated to Boise, Idaho.
Richard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Among his many interests and hobbies were down-hill skiing, wood-carving, sketching, fly-fishing, camping, travel and genealogy.
Richard is survived by a son and his wife, Kim and Sandra Ohrberg of Nampa; a daughter and her husband, Robyn and John Griffiths of Boise; grandchildren, Shannon Bishop, Benjamin and Brian Griffiths and Brandon Ohrberg. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents and sisters Marjorie Ohrberg-Sunderland and DorisAnn Ohrberg-Hunsley.
