Well, Rick - it looks like they're going to close this book soon. I couldn't let it end without saying "one more time" how much it meant to share the little moments of life with you. The Gatormania (and yes, I made the switch -- GO GATORS!), the countless Oxford bashes, planning Ken and Cheryl's wedding, the birth of our grandchildren, and the tragic loss of Patrick. You went to join Patrick and Tommy - along with all the loved ones who left before. You just had to prove that The Rickster could get there first! And get there you did . . . but not before leaving a huge impact on the hearts of many. This book commemorates YOU, Rick Oxford. You are still very loved, and you will be forever in our hearts.

I'm so sorry that I was out of country when everything happened. Sadness filled me when I heard of our loss. I wish I could have been here. Don't know if they play b-ball or football up there, but if they do, remember; traveling is traveling and off sides is off sides. So call 'em straight. I think I saw a new light twinkeling in the sky the other night. The world is a poorer place without you and I will miss my friend.

I could write a book about the good times and even the bad times I have shared with Rick & his family.
I will always cherish all of my memories with Rick, the years that we worked together at Boots, and then opening Rick's, we really had alot of good times in the shop and out of the shop as well, he is and always will be special to me, he owns a piece of my heart, he was always there for me, he is the true definition of a friend. I will miss him. I will miss his beautiful blue eyes that really did seem to twinkle when he was up to something, ( I know you know what I'm talking about) I'll miss his smile, his hugs, but most of all his wisdom, he helped me in so many ways. I thank God he was part of my life, and I will never forget him. God Bless you Rick. I'm proud to have known you.

I still can't believe that you are gone. I am just glad that you arent suffering any longer. You will be greatly missed. At least now you and Pat will have the best seats in the house to watch the Gator Games and no more charges for the Pay Per View Games : ). I will never forget the memories that we all have shared throughout the years of me growing up around your family. Please give Patrick a Hug and tell him how much I miss him as well. I will miss you. God Bless and Rest in Peace.

Rick made me laugh out loud more than anyone I have ever known. When he wasn't saying something funny, he was doing something funny. His sense of humor was incredible, and he had a heart as big as China. We shared a precious gift -- our grandsons, Patrick and Cameron Boyd. He has left a mark in their hearts that will never be erased. And in mine. Rest in Peace, Rick. And God bless your family.

We have known Rick for many years, from way back at FHS to cutting my boys hair for the past 15 years. His true compassion and love was evident when he came to my own son's funeral and cried for our loss - that's the kind of person he was. Rick - we miss you already! Love and peace to your family. Until we meet again.....

I'm shocked & saddened to see this. Back when I had hair, one of my favorite parts of visiting home was getting a cut from & having a fun conversation with Rick. Rick was a great person & his passing is a loss to many.
My condolences to his family.

WOW, just heard the news and I am in total shock! What a huge loss for the Ocala community. My fondest memory of Rick had to be his own signals he used when refereeing a basketball game. They were Rick for for sure...always joking and having fun. My first year, Rick and I were at Dunnellon and after the game, as we walked to the car, A woman came running up behind rick yelling about a call...the next thing I knew, Rick and the lady were laughing and cutting up...That IS RICKY OXFORD. He will be missed

I must say, shock can hardly express my thoughts when I heard Mr. Rick was gone! I'm deeply saddened! I can't remember how many years ago it was when I started taking my son to Mr. Rick for his hair to be cut. Rick made everyone feel welcome and he also made you feel as though you had made a friend when you were done. As the years past Rick and I shared a fondness for Politics! Rick's dream was to run for County Commission, it wasn't to terribly long ago I almost had Rick convinced to throw his hat in the ring for School Board! Rick was an outstanding man and he loved his Community! He would have made a great Politician because of his passion. Rick you were truly an outstanding man and I am sad to say I have lost a friend! I will deeply miss you my friend and as I pass by Rick's barbershop everyday I will say a prayer for you and your loved ones! Be at peace with the Lord! May God Bless your Family.

Rick- You will always be missed and remembered. Our conversations about sports and the Highland Games-or what you refered to as log tossing wearing a skirt. From cutting my hair for the first time almost 16 years ago. To cutting my 13 month old son's hair for the first time 4 months ago. I'm happy knowing you are no longer suffering and are with your son. If you would do me a favor and tell my daughter Tayla hello and that we love her. You will be missed always. Love Tyson and the Trias Family.

Rick, I will miss our talks about the gators and area sports. I will always remember how you had a chair always ready for me, you had a special way of making me feel like I was your favorite. I still can't believe that your are gone so soon! Some of my fondest memories from childhood is getting out of school and getting a quick haircut.

Although it was expected, I was in shock when I read about Rick's passing. I knew Rick for 20 years. He was my barber....but more important, he was a friend. A friend who never met a stranger. One of the world's nicer people. Yes, he WILL be missed.......

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
