Richard Parrott Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 11, 2022.
It is with great sadness that our family announces the death of Rick Parrott, 63, son of Betty Parrott and Ludwig Kupser.

A James M. Bennett ('76), Salisbury University ('83) and Asbury Theological Seminary ('87) alumni proudly served as a United States Air Force Pararescue Specialist (active duty) and U.S. Army Paramedic (reserve duty) before his civil career as a Human Resources Manager and part time pastor.

The proud father of Michael, Michelle, and Matthew had a passion for sports and could often be found coaching or rooting for them in his younger years; while cheering for his beloved Baltimore Orioles and Dallas Cowboys later in life.

He enjoyed traveling with his family and received great joy spending time with he and Teresa's grandchildren - Kateri, Tucker, Reighlynn, Ozzi, and Vaden.

He leaves behind a brother Ed Parrott, in-laws Ewing and Gail Timmons, cousins Sherry Massey and Kimberly Brown-Marshall, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents, stepfather Lee Parrott, sister Lisa Parrott, and niece Kathryn Parrott.

Donations can be made in his memory to the National Kidney Foundation or American Heart Association.

I will always remember the time when we had a really bad snow. Me Dennis and the kids made it to church anyway because we only lived about a mile from the church. We were the only ones there, but that didn´t bother Pastor Rick. He sat in the pew with us and preached his sermon and we sang hymns. Afterwards we laughed joked shared some memories. It was a great Sunday service and has stayed in our memories. We loved our Pastor and friend and still miss him very much.

We are so sad to hear of Pastor Rick's passing. Our sympathy and prayers go out to Tereasa, Mike, Michelle and Matt. We will always feel blessed that we were able to share many great times with your family. We will never forget how much Pastor Rick gladly gave of himself to help encourage, support and give spiritual help to our family during many difficulty's and loses. He was not just a great pastor to us but a loyal friend. God bless you Pastor Rick.

Our condolences thoughts and prayers to you and your family. I remember years ago Rick would call myself or Sheriff Nelms about some issues throughout the county. Although Rick was only a couple years ahead of me at Bennett we use to hang out.
We will miss you Rick, but one day we all will be together.

My condolences and prayers are with the family, Rick was a great friend! I will miss him dearly..

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. - 2 Timothy 4:7-8
