Richard Pedersen

Richard James Pedersen (Rick), passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at his home in Bannockburn, IL surrounded by love and his family. He was born in Lake Forest, IL in 1958 and was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold G. Pedersen and Elizabeth (MUD) Pedersen. He is survived by his wife Christine of 30 years. His siblings Ken Pedersen, Cap (Denise) Pedersen, Bob (Nancy) Pedersen, Nancee (Kip) Kipley, Tom (Karen) Pedersen, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ricky was a master craftsman, although he was too humble and modest to admit it. He could fix anything and if he didn't know how he would figure it out. The outcome was nothing less than perfect. He knew how to live life like it was meant to be, happy, simply, and with family. Our house was happy house as he always said. No negativity allowed. He was a man of traditions. He continued the Creche as his parents did for over 55 years. Christmas celebrations were magical because Ricky made them that way. He carried on the old-time traditions of thin pancakes for breakfast, plenty of food for dinner, and much fun, love and laughter. He loved animals domestic and wild. Our yard was always filled with well-fed deer, ducks, birds and rabbits. And inside were rescued dogs and cats. Don't ask Ricky who he would save first in a fire...it would always be the animals...I don't fault him one bit. If there is anything we can take away from his passing it is to live life like Ricky did...Happy, Simply, Others first, and most of all, Love and Kindness to all. A private celebration of life will be held in July at the family cottages in Phelps, WI. Ricky's other Happy Place. Interment to follow at Phelps Cemetary in Phelps, WI.
