PFC. RICHARD F. PENTA III

Pfc. Richard F. Penta III, 23, a lifelong Peekskill resident, died April 20, 2003. Richard was born on January 22, 1980 in Mt. Kisco to Richard F. and June A. Rozmus Penta, Jr. He was a Machine Gunner and Driver for the US Marine Corps, where he was stationed at Camp Le Jeune in Jacksonville, NC. He enlisted in the Marines in 2001. Richard graduated from Peekskill High School in 1998, where he played varsity football and had played soccer for a year. He was also an avid bowler and golfer and swam with the Peekskill Recreation Swim Team. He was a member of the Church of the Assumption. Richard is survived by his mother, June A. Penta, his father, Richard F. Penta, Jr., a sister, Victoria Penta, his paternal grandparents, Richard and Audrea Penta, Sr., all of Peekskill and his maternal grandmother, Mary Rozmus of Altomonte Springs, FL. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Donald Rozmus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday at the Church of the Assumption. Family will receive friends at the E.O. CURRY FUNERAL HOME, 313 No. James St., Peekskill on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
