I worked with Richard, who I knew as Dick, at Walmart. He was the best district manager during my 15 years there. Dick made a statement one day that I have never forgotten -- our store had a bad inventory and when they came looking in my office through the books to find the store's opportunities, Dick said "you won't find anything in here -- he's the best!" While I left retail almost 20 years ago, I never forgot that. He made time for idle chat in addition to the business talk. Dick could oversee a Walmart district and still remember that people made the business. Thanks for making my retail experience a good one!

Muffin's Passing was Ash Wednesday 2023,aka Butterball's Decendent. He was Our Petkid for 16 years after
Muff 1 passed on. Good to know that He and Our Baby Girl Princess MiMi who passed shortly thereafter are in the company of Uncle Rich and Uncle Joe to watch over them until we meet again. So many Angels in the outfield we keep close to our hearts everyday and know they do the same.

Count the Memories not the calories! We so much enjoyed Your Springtime Visits. Making favorite dishes almost as wonderful as Mom's every year was like having Sunday Supper with the Family again. As I reflect on those good old days sometimes I'll play a song or a few that remind me of you. I am so honored to have learned, listened and love both of my wonderful Brothers and Sister that have "moved on up" so high above, where my heart has always placed them. Our sincerest wishes to Edie & Family for a smooth transition. Best fertilizer that mountain will ever get, 3 Cheers!

I considered Richard a true role model and father-figure in my life. He was a deeply thoughtful and caring man and always had a positive disposition about him. He was really one of my favorite people. I miss him dearly.

Each day, we can carry forward the legacy of our loved ones through how we interact with the world around us. We can carry their wit, their compassion, their love.

And we can show the world the beauty of their enduring legacies. We can provide others with a glimpse of who they were through who we are.

Our hearts hold their story, their legacy, their memory.
May we do our best to boldly carry it, boldly share it
Sprinkling love throughout the world

"Dick" Pouliot as I knew him was exactly as has been expressed here!

What a great man and mentor to me ! Early in my retail career I worked for Dick at Office Depot. He in California.... And I was in Hawaii. When I came to California for meetings , etc he had me over for dinner .
He always kept up with my career and came wherever I was to visit which included California, Texas, North Carolina and now South Carolina.

My sincere thoughts and prayers to Edie and the family.... What a great man !!

That is the BEST description of my Uncle Rich I've ever heard..He took a genuine interest in people and especially family.
He gave great advise and even if he didn't agree with your ideals , he respected them but wasn't afraid to tell you his..:) I wish I could have spent more time with him. Whenever he came to Myrtle Beach we would get together and catch up. Our conversations were always the best.! He spoke of when he was a young man and met my auntie..You could tell how much in love he was and how fond of those memories he was. He called me the gypsy entrepreneur. Lol He seemed to me amazed by my ability to adapt to any circumstance.. We always spoke of the BOYS as he would say and talked about how successful all his children were. He also told me I HAVE to go to Buc ees. ! I told him I was going to go see Rick and get some tips ..and I finally made it. He would be happy to know that.. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to speak with uncle Rich the night before he passed.I tried to joke with him , knowing It would likely be our last conversation. I told him I'd see
him in July and give him an update on my next adventure and maybe we can go to Buc cees. I remember the one time he visited my mom's house with a couple of my cousins.i think I was 5 or 6 maybe. He could barely get in the door..he got right down in the floor with us and played a board game...I never had a parent that did things like that...and from that day forward I
made sure I would enjoy any moment I could spend around him because i knew i was in good company..He was a gentle giant and I felt he treated me like a daughter although I wasn't. He had a way of making everyone feel important and I'm sure my cousins know just what a GREAT DAD they had.. he will be missed and thought of fondly for a very long time.

Uncle Rich was my mentor and a second father. His loss is devastating but the myriad memories of our many encounters and talks always make me smile.
